PeopleWA dataset improves outcomes for WA communities
Valuable population linked datasets are available to researchers, community organisations, and policymakers.
PeopleWA allows researchers, community organisations, and policymakers to access population linked data and gain a deeper understanding on policies, services and programs in WA.
Launched in August 2023 as a collaboration effort between the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) and the WA Department of Health, PeopleWA is a whole-of-government, privacy driven data asset of consumer interactions with government services.
More datasets will be added to the database to ensure it remains up to date and dynamic to cater for research needs. The categories currently accessible to applicants include:
- child protection
- public housing
- disability
- education and early development
- justice and police
- health and mental health
- infectious diseases
- training and workforce.
This repository removes one of the largest hurdles researchers face, allowing for timely provisional access into the dedicated workspace, ensuring privacy and security with strong cyber security controls. This dataset will allow researchers to improve outcomes for WA communities in the public health, children’s health and development and criminal justice spaces.
